Welcome to Taverna Kyclades Bayside

LOCATIONS

Welcome to Taverna Kyclades Bayside, a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Bayside, NY, where the essence of Greek cuisine intertwines seamlessly with a sea of fresh seafood options. Located at 39-28 Bell Blvd, this vibrant restaurant is a must-visit for those seeking an authentic taste of Greece without leaving the New York City limits.

As you step inside, the charming atmosphere wrapped in hints of Greek culture welcomes you. The restaurant buzzes with energy, especially during busy weekend nights, a testament to its popularity and the quality of its offerings. Patrons often find themselves captivated by the array of flavors, drawing upon traditional recipes that have stood the test of time.

  • Appetizers: Start your culinary journey with delectable options like the Stuffed Clams with Crabmeat ($15.95) or the tender, grilled Octopus ($24.95). If you’re feeling adventurous, don’t miss the famous Fried Calamari ($13.95) that melts in your mouth, perfectly cooked in golden oil.
  • Salads: The Greek Salad ($12.95) brimming with fresh vegetables and feta cheese or the zesty Kyclades Salad ($12.95) are must-tries for a refreshing start.
  • Main Courses: The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly the perfectly prepared seafood. Guests rave about the Branzino, served family-style with skillfully removed bones for the smoothest dining experience, and the Seafood Pasta that presents a delightful medley of ocean flavors.

The dining experience is further enhanced by the attentive staff, who not only provide excellent service but also ensure that each meal concludes on a sweet note with a complimentary dessert. This is my favorite Greek restaurant much better than the restaurants in LIC and Astoria. It is a bit pricey but definitely worth the price. Food was delicious. Service was excellent including bar service. Waited to be seated at the bar and the drinks were second to none. The place was a bit hectic but this is expected since it was Saturday night.

I've previously been to the Astoria location so it was nice to try the one in Bayside. We both got the chicken kebab and lemon potatoes which were tasty. They also provide you with bread and olive tapenade as well as a Greek dessert at the end which is a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and made the dining experience pleasant.

The food here is always fresh and cooked perfectly so I figure it would be great for my family to celebrate CNY Eve dinner. We had a party of 12 and since they don't take reservations they made a long table in the middle of the restaurant. When I called about reservations, they advised they don't take them. I was hoping to get the back room but it seemed like they had a party set up in there. I was a little perplex how that happens when they don't take reservations. On to dinner..We ordered almost one of everything on the menu..lol. The waitress advices us they had 2 big fishes that we can have family style..pink snapper and branzino and ordered both. They came out perfectly cooked with the bones removed before it got to the table. The party loved the seafood pasta and the perfectly seared lamb chops. The only down side was the service was rushed. The bus boy kept trying to take stuff away when we we were still eating. We had to stop them numerous times. Other than that all was good. I come often and was happy to share the food with my family.

1/17/25. Opted for the grilled clams ($17.95), grilled calamari ($19.95), langoustinos ($49.95) as well as the lemon potatoes and tzatziki sauce. The calamari was amazing, so tender with the tastiest char. Langoustinos and the potatoes were good also. The clams were fresh but didn't have much flavor, and the tzatziki sauce was bland/not much garlic so I wouldn't order them again. The bartenders Julie and Angel were very attentive. Cosmos were good, not strong. The Greek white blend wine/Biblia Chora ($65) that was suggested did not disappoint. The complimentary dessert, Greek custard, was delish. Not too sweet.

Taverna Kyclades is one of my favorite restaurants in Bayside which is hilarious because I'm highly allergic to (all) seafood and that's majority of their menu. I'd been a fan of their Astoria location prior to the Bayside location opening. I always get the peasant salad. It's simple, but the feta, tomatoes, and cucumbers are consistently just so fresh! You can't go wrong. For entrées, I typically get chicken souvlaki or lamb chops. Again, just fresh, high quality food that's not over done or over complicated. The lemon potatoes and tzatziki are both also a must try. My family always opts for seafood and they rave about everything. The Kyclades special is a great deal. The experience dining in is always pleasant. It's beautiful in there and the service is great. In addition, we've ordered takeout and everything is always packed perfectly. The catering is also excellent and reliable. We hosted about 50 people at our house and had half the food catered from Taverna Kyclades and they did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

I had been to the location in Astoria which is really good and had always passed by this location but never went in. I went on a Sunday night which was pretty busy but we were seated very quickly. The server was very friendly and took our order right away. We ordered a bottle of red wine which I believe was their house wine and it was semi sweet and very tasty. It paired perfectly with the branzino for two which came with a few pieces of asparagus, side of lemon potatoes and rice. The fish was very light and delicious. The lemon potatoes were a complete hit and the rice was cooked perfectly. As our appetizer, we ordered a dozen clams which were very fresh and were a great way to start the meal. They gave us this delicious flaky dessert with a creamy filling on the house. The prices are quite expensive to plan to spend around $200 for a dinner for two.

First things first parking is a capital B so be prepared to spin a few blocks It was packed in there so upon entering I said we don't have a reservation, do you have any room for two, both hosts smiled and confirmed they don't take reservations. It's small but spacious, has hints of Greek culture in every corner and on every wall. All meals end with a complimentary desert, I don't remember the name of the desert but it tastes like rice pudding without the rice. Service: 8/10 Table bread: 5/10 Greek salad: 9/10 Greek fries:7/10 Grilled chicken: 8.5/10 Branzino: 8/10 but 9/10 after adding salt
